Zumba could be fun for all ages
People looking to lose weight fast while also having fun have been pointed towards taking Zumba classes.
Instructor Damara Lopez told the Edmonton Journal that the Latin-inspired form of exercise encourages people to come along, have a party and forget that they are actually working out and burning calories.
She said she gets people of all ages coming for tuition, with grandmothers, mothers and daughters even enjoying Zumba together.
"The best way to describe it is a room of all different demographics. Different men and women of different ages. And the one thing everyone is looking for is just, I think, to have a good time," Ms Lopez remarked.
As many as 1,000 calories can be burned per class, with toning, weight loss and a confidence boost other favourable side-effects, the expert added.
The Huffington Post recently featured the story of 33-year-old Natasha Coleman, who managed to lose almost nine stone through a combination of healthy eating and taking regular Zumba classes.
