Woman loses 15st and wins slimming competitionA woman who lost 15st has won the title of Slimming World's Woman of the Year 2010.

School teacher Harriet Jenkins dropped from a dress size 30 to a size ten through adopting a strict healthy diet and exercising regularly.

At her heaviest, the 25-year-old tipped the scales at 26st 7lbs, but she shed over half of this in the space of just 18 months.

"My life's completely different now and I've achieved things I thought I never would, like getting my dream job as a teacher," she said.

Ms Jenkins went on to suggest that looking better and weighing less has made her more confident and has caused her to finally feel happy with who she is.

She explained that she achieved her weight loss by ditching junk food and turning to home-cooked meals including fresh vegetables.

Earlier this week, USA Today reported that a teenager from the US who lost 4st 4lbs in a year and a half had gained a place on a new research project into weight loss.
