Trying to lose weight? Eat at home
Ladies, if you're trying to lose weight fast, it might be worth avoiding restaurants for a few weeks.
That's according to the latest research, which found that people tend to eat more-nutritious meals at home than when they are out.
For the research, which was published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the boffins looked at 160 women and their emotional states before and after meals.
The study, by Professor Ji Lu of Nova Scotia Agricultural College and Catherine Huet and Professor Laurette Dube of McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, explained: "The home is a privileged environment that nurtures healthy eating and in which healthier food choices trigger and are triggered by more positive emotions."
Hermie Hogg, a health and wellbeing consultant and founder of Hermieopathy, also recently advised that people who are hoping to shift a few pounds need not fork out a fortune for gym membership.
Instead, she said it's very easy to work out at home, whether it's by walking up and down the stairs or doing some stretches.
