Three high-protein meals a day ‘help people lose weight’
Those looking for the best ways to lose weight should try eating three high-protein meals a day, a study has suggested.
Researchers at Purdue University in the US found that eating three protein-rich meals makes slimmers feel full for longer and so removes the urge to snack between them.
“We found that when eating high amounts of protein, men who were trying to lose weight felt fuller throughout the day; they also experienced a reduction in late-night desire to eat and had fewer thoughts of food,” explained researcher Heather J Leidy, who is an assistant professor of nutrition and exercise physiology at the University of Missouri.
She went on to stress that those adopting this weight loss plan should make sure that the three meals are low in calories and that the portion sizes are not too big.
According to Now Magazine, Jennifer Aniston maintains her svelte figure by eating three small high-protein diets a day with a “metabolism booster” such as cayenne pepper, garlic, cloves or mustard.
