Pushing a buggy outdoors ‘helps new mums to lose weight’
New mums can lose weight fast simply by heading outdoors with their newborns and pushing them around in their buggies.
This is according to personal trainer Steve Halsall, who said that women can get their pre-pregnancy bodies back by fitting bits of exercise into their daily routines.
He went on to say that how quickly a new mum loses weight after giving birth depends on how active they were before they fell pregnant.
"If they exercised a lot prior to pregnancy it is a lot easier to lose the weight after the birth because you are going to exercise during your pregnancy," Mr Halsall explained.
He added that women should not push themselves too hard to lose weight quickly and said they should set themselves a timeframe of nine months to get back to the shape they were in before becoming pregnant.
Last month, the University of Georgia claimed that a supervised, low-to-moderate intensity weight training programme is safe and beneficial to pregnant women.
