PowerPlining and ViPR are ‘great calorie burners’

People looking for exercises that will help them to lose weight alongside their diets should try PowerPlining and ViPR, according to a celebrity fitness expert.

Nicki Waterman, who co-presented of GMTV’s Inch Loss Island, recommended that people try PowerPlining classes, which involve a vibrating power plate and a trampoline.

She claimed that using these two pieces of apparatus burn a great amount of calories.

“You switch from the plate to the trampoline and can burn up to 300 calories in a 20 minute class,” she explained.

Another great way of burning excess calories is using a gadget called ViPR, which stands for vitality, performance and reconditioning.

It is a one-metre high rubber device which can be carried, thrown, flipped, stepped on and rolled.

“It’s said to help burn lots of calories and build muscle,” Ms Waterman explained.

She said that another form of exercise that is proving extremely popular this year is dancing and she puts the success of this down to TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing.

The NHS recommends dancing as a good way of keeping fit. It said that attending organised dance classes provides women with support and goals, as well as a chance to make new friends.
