Many exercise options ‘are open to over-50s
Those aged over 50 can still lose weight fast as a wide variety of exercises are open to this age group, an expert has asserted.
Lucy Case, from The Body Fitness Company, suggested that people who are healthy and active should give any activity they think sounds fun a go.
She went on to say that people can tone up or tone down exercises, depending on their individual fitness levels.
"Anything from Zumba to BodyPump, from cycling to gardening, from walking a dog to raking up leaves, are all good stuff for the heart, lungs and muscles," Ms Case noted.
She stressed that, when taking up exercise, people should inform their instructors or personal trainers that they are beginners so that they start at the correct level of intensity.
Her comments follow the publication of a survey by Engage Mutual, which indicates that the average person in their 50s leads a fitter and healthier lifestyle than they did when they were in their 20s.
