Making exercise a habit, not a chore, ‘keeps weight off’
People seeking to not only lose weight but to keep it off need to build exercise into their daily routines, an expert has suggested.
A spokesperson for Slimming World said that sticking to exercise and making it a “lifetime habit” rather than a chore will enable people to stay slim.
Last week, a study by women’s car insurance specialist Diamond revealed that women who diet and exercise with a friend are more likely to shed the pounds than if they try to slim on their own.
After surveying 3,000 women, the company found that the average woman will shed more than ten pounds when she diets and trains with friends, while a fifth of women who go solo do not drop a single pound.
The Slimming World spokesperson said that the best way to lose weight is to combine healthy eating with regular moderate physical activity.
“Having the moral support and doing it with a friend … can make it more fun and can help you to stay motivated,” she added.
