Low Fat Recipes: Toasted Sandwich
Thought I’d share with you my all time fave toastie recipe, BLT! And it just happens to be one of our low fat recipes.
*Serves 1. Preparation time 5 minutes. Cooking time 30 minutes.*

Ingredients:
1 tomato sliced
1 halved/deseeded pepper (colour of your choice)
Shredded iceberg lettuce
1 level tablespoon of light mayonnaise
2 lean bacon rashers
black pepper *optional*
Low fat recipes don’t have to be bland and boring!
Method:
- Pre-heat the grill to hot
- Pop two slices of wholemeal bread into your toaster
- Once toasted, set aside
- Grill the pepper halves for 10 minutes
- Once grilled, transfer to a sealable plastic bag
- Set aside to cool for another 10 minutes
- Once cooled chop into thin slices
- Grill the bacon rashers on both sides until cooked
- Cut into large pieces and set aside
- Spread the light mayonnaise on to one slice of the bread
- Add the shredded iceberg lettuce, the tomato and the bacon
- Next add the slices of pepper
- Season lightly with black pepper *optional*
- Add the other slice of toasted bread and there you have it !
