‘Explaining benefits of fruit and veg’ could encourage teens to lose weight
Teens could be tempted to add more healthy food to their diet in order to lose weight fast if they are notified of certain added benefits, it has been said.
According to Sue Baic, senior lecturer for the Department of Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Bristol, youngsters may be more likely to want to eat their greens if they know that they can improve their appearance.
“If you have more fruit and veg, you are more likely to be a healthy weight, and your skin and your hair are likely to be healthier,” Ms Baic explained.
She said that young people are not so bothered about the aspects of eating unhealthily, such as heart disease, which are more likely to affect older people, so telling them about how they can improve their appearance could work.
Ladies trying to lose weight fast might want to avoid restaurants for a few weeks after recent research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people tend to eat more nutritious meals at home than when they are out.
