Dieters ‘may need to rethink mindset’
People who have always struggled when it comes to weight loss may need to improve their mindset, one expert has stipulated.
Ursula James, You Can Think Yourself Thin author, said that if dieters have not got their mindset right they can “forget everything else”.
She said that most people know exactly what they should be eating and how often they should be exercising in order to shift the pounds, but the majority of individuals are “very good at talking themselves out of it”.
However, once they have acquired the correct mindset, losing weight and maintaining the loss becomes a constant.
“It’s not a priority out there in the front of your mind – it becomes a background programme and that way you don’t talk yourself out of it,” the expert explained.
Ms James advised that people wanting to lose weight in the new year should set themselves a specific goal, vowing to lose a certain amount of weight before a particular date.
