Could film-related rambling be the ideal way to lose weight?
Film fans in the London area could lose weight this autumn without even realising it if they take part in a series of special events.
The Ramblers is once again hosting its Films on Foot Festival, which will take place between October 12th and 27th in 2011.
One walk will take place each day to celebrate Britain's film heritage and some of the locations used to create memorable silver screen scenes.
For instance, people taking part can walk around the area of London used for Bridget Jones' Diary, while following the route from The Da Vinci Code may suit fans of mystery stories better.
Anyone eager to get involved should check the Ramblers website, but booking is not required and all the walks are free.
Films on Foot Festival organiser Eleanor Harris said the routes should be really fascinating.
"It's also a great way to try out walking with the Ramblers – helping you get fit, make new friends and discover different parts of the UK," she added.
Des De Moor from the Ramblers said in July that the countryside also offers an array of walks, which could follow a wildlife or history theme if you like.
