Consider your values ‘to help you lose weight’
Women who have difficulty in shifting that last few stubborn pounds have been advised that simply writing down some of the things that are important to them could help.
A study carried out by the University of Waterloo showed that women who were trying to lose weight who wrote down a list of things that were important to them for just 15 minutes shed more pounds than those who considered what was important to other people.
Christine Logel of Renison University College at the university, explained that when people find they cannot do something, they lose their sense of self-integrity, which can make achieving a goal more difficult.
“We can buffer that self-integrity by reminding ourselves how much we love our children, for example,” she explained.
Going out for a walk could also be a great way to lose weight and lower cholesterol, a study from the University of Glasgow and the British Heart Foundation has recently shown.
Could writing a list inspire you into losing some extra weight?
